The web server holding my earliest postings into an uncaring universe quietly expired a while ago. Rather than replacing it, I'm posting the content so it will live on forever in the cloud, polluting my little corner of it. Enjoy.
February 2006 - Back from the Paint Booth
Shot of the front. Hood is unlatched since the engine compartment is coated with red dust from the painting and needs to be cleaned up
No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. That's not primer. That's the finished car. No gloss here, just flat black. Think 50's Rat Rods. Think Stealth Bomber.
And See? Those purple wheels don't look too bad in a black context. Remember Racing 101, if you can't be fast, be noticed!
Still need to put the bumperettes back on
Not your typical paint job ... I think it's cool, kinda like a stealth bomber look ... and since its my check to the paint shop, that's all that counts.
Gotta wash it a bunch as the paint cures and get the chalk (which gives it the flat finish) out of the paint before I decal it.
So? does it look any better with numbers and all that racer crap all over it? Maybe it will distract you from the purple wheels.
